night time - prayers 30th March 2020.
The Lords’ Prayer (Aramaic version) Beloved Father, who fills all realms May You be honoured in me. Let your divine rule come now Let Your will come true in all the universe, in the heavens, and on earth. Give us all that we need for each day, and Untangle the knots of unforgiveness that bind us within, As we also let go of the guilt of others Let us not be lost in superficial things, But let us be free from that what keeps us from our true purpose From You comes all rule, the strength to act, and the song that beautifies all From Age to Age. Amen.
29th March - Sunday - reading - Lazarus raised. Just the reading.
What can we learn today? Where is God in our sadness? This passage is only in John’s gospel. Things to note: - 1. First of all, Lazarus was DEAD. 2. Second, Lazarus was RAISED TO NEWNESS OF LIFE. 3. Though Lazarus had life, HE WAS BOUND. 4. Lazarus was LIBERATED FROM HIS BONDAGE. 5. Lazarus became A LIVING WITNESS FOR CHRIST, as did those who grieved. 6. 'Death - why is thy Victory'! Our physical bodies do die - and we don't want them to! We want to go on forever - but we can't. THERE IS LIFE IN SPITE OF DEATH only through JESUS. We all have asked questions of ‘where is Gid?’ when sorrow surrounds us. Jesus ‘comes’ and weeps with us. It is only by Jesus’s presence in our life and in our death that we LIVE UNBOUND AND FREE. Even in sorrow – we can use our experience to point to Jesus’ compassion, presence and love.
