Our Family Fun Church is an event where families from across the Circuit come together for a time of worship! Here we all participate in a variety of crafts and games that are all linked back to our service theme.
We most recently spent time looking at the Easter Story before sharing communion together. This was the first time we had incorporated communion into our time at Family Fun Church and it was a very spiritual experience that the families who attended thoroughly enjoyed! Each family had a set of palm leaves that were held and sung with during our service to further encapsulate the feeling of Easter.
Following our service we shared a meal together that included a delicious variety of sandwiches, soups and cakes – produced by our marvellous catering team at Broom Church. Having lunch together at Family Fun Church is always a highlight as different families from all over the circuit have the opportunity to get to know each other and build relationships.
After Lunch we came together for crafts where we created Easter cards and a calendar of Holy Week for Children and Adults to take home and look at together. There is always a variety of activities to participate in that are closely following our theme.
Finally, we enjoyed a golden Easter egg hunt where we used all the golden eggs found to have an egg and spoon race for our game. Each child was able to take a chocolate Easter egg home at the end of our games alongside their crafts.
Our Family Fun Church happens twice a month: on the first Sunday of the month at Broom Methodist Church and on the third Friday of the month at Central Methodist Church. If you have any questions about Family Fun Church or are planning to attend please contact our Children and Families worker Grace Perkins at firstname.lastname@example.org
We hope to see you there!
