Read all the latest guidance from the Methodist Church

The current health situation has changed life for all of us in so many ways. Church is no exception and the Methodist Church in the UK has issued guidance that affects the way we use and experience Church.

What are some of the main implications?

  • All Methodist Church buildings are closed for the forseeable future.

  • All meetings including church councils and circuit meetings are cancelled.

  • Weddings and baptisms are cancelled.

  • Funerals will not use church buildings.

Please read the official Methodist Church guidance and if you have questions or concerns please contact your minister or the our Circuit Superintendent Jo Archer-Siddall.

How can we keep being Church when our buildings are shut?

Church isn't bricks and mortar! The circuit superintendent is streaming evening prayers every day and pastoral staff have been very busy recording video messages to keep in touch with you, and you can see them all on the new video page. You can also join in the conversation on the circuit Facebook page.

Further down the page you will find lists of Sunday services you can join with. Please continue to worship with God's people. There may be a lot of people around feeling worried and isolated. Pick up the phone and ring the people you have been meaning to talk to for ages but never quite did.

If you are struggling with bereavement or need a listening ear - please contact Rev. Jo on 01709 372863.

How else can I help or get help?

If you, or someone you know of, are living alone or vulnerable and there is no-one to help with basic tasks your local Council may be able to help. Rotherham Council have a form to Request Support or, if you need urgent help you can phone 01709 807319,

Want to help out with others in the community? Consider signing up for the Rotherham Heroes Volunteer Programme. There are all sorts of roles to suit what you can manage. You can sign up online or telephone 01709 807319
